What Is CBD Isolate and Is It Right for You?

The CBD oil market can be quite confusing, even to people who have purchased online CBD products before. Many customers ask us about the purity of our CBD oil product line, so we’re taking this opportunity to answer that question fully. So what is CBD isolate and is it the right CBD for you? As a trusted hemp CBD oil brand, we’d like to talk about some of the common, often misunderstood terms associated with hemp and cannabis products.

CBD Isolate Defined

CBD isolate is supposed to be the purest form of CBD. When manufacturers extract CBD isolate from the hemp plant, they end up with a processed powder. In order to be rightfully marketed as CBD isolate, the product should generally contain pure CBD, without other compounds. Many companies market foods or beverages containing CBD isolate, although it may not be legal to do so where you live.

CBD Uses and Side Effects

Although our products are not intended as foods, drugs, or dietary supplements, it’s important to note that scientists are studying both uses and side effects of the compounds they contain. For instance, since the drug Epidiolex is a purified, pharmaceutical-grade form of CBD, we know about its side effects and drug interactions.

We know that the human body has its own internal processes for manufacturing cannabis-like substances. This system is called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). There’s also a good deal of preliminary research about possible uses for CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids. Human trials are ongoing.

Comparing CBD Isolate to Full-Spectrum Hemp Oil

In contrast to CBD isolate, full-spectrum hemp CBD oil includes more than CBD alone. Instead, it contains the compounds present in the hemp plant from which it is extracted. At Corvash Farms, we obtain full-spectrum hemp oil using supercritical CO2 extraction. This clean extraction method does not utilize alcohols or other solvents, some of which can be toxic, according to an article published in Scientific Reports.

What Else Isn’t Included in CBD Isolate?

Unlike full-spectrum hemp oil, CBD isolate excludes other cannabinoids by definition, as well as flavonoids and terpenes that give hemp oil its distinct taste and smell. Cannabinoids contained in hemp may include less than 0.3% THC, as well as trace amounts of CBG, CBN, and others. Additional parts of the hemp plant, such as fatty acids, waxes, and chlorophyll, are also not generally included in CBD isolate products.

Some scientists are interested in the possibility of the cannabinoids and other compounds working together synergistically in the human body. This hypothesis is called the entourage effect.

Which CBD Product Is Best?

People choose different products for different reasons. For instance, by choosing our full-spectrum hemp CBD oil, you’ll have the benefit of all hemp plant ingredients, and not just CBD alone. Each hemp strain is different, and ours has a higher CBD content relative to others.

Keep in mind that extraction processes vary in the CBD oil marketplace, according to the Scientific Reports article. Labeling accuracy also varies greatly, according to an FDA report cited by Medical News Today.

Whatever you choose to buy, make sure you understand exactly what you’re getting. This simple rule of thumb is as useful for buying hemp CBD oil online as it is for purchasing many other cosmetics or herbal products. It’s important that you trust the company or, even better, that you can verify what the company tells you. That’s why Corvash Farms products are lab-tested by a trusted third party. Lab tests show you the concentrations of various cannabinoids, and we’d be glad to personally answer your CBD oil questions as well.
